What Remains Behind: Echoes of Memory and Silence

Released on October 28, 2026, What Remains Behind is a neoclassical piece for piano and strings, shaped around the traces that remain after a moment has passed. Quiet and restrained, the music moves through memory not as something fixed, but as something that gradually changes with distance.

The piano forms the still center of the piece, while cello, violin, and subtle strings emerge around it like fragments of recollection. Rather than moving toward a dramatic resolution, the instruments appear, recede, and return, leaving space for silence to become part of the music itself.

What Remains Behind reflects on the things that do not disappear completely—the faint impressions, emotions, and echoes that remain after their source is gone.

Artist's Note:

“Some things remain with us long after the moment itself has passed. Not as a clear memory, but as a feeling—a trace that quietly returns when we least expect it.

While composing What Remains Behind, I was interested in that space between remembering and forgetting. The piano became the still point of the piece, while the strings move around it like fragments of something once familiar: sometimes close, sometimes distant, never quite returning in the same form.

For me, the piece is not really about holding on to the past. It is about noticing what remains after we have already begun to let it go.”
